James Kakos, DDS, FAGD

Dr. Kakos was born and raised in Chicago. He completed his undergraduate education at Marquette University and then received his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1991. Following graduation, Dr. Kakos went on to complete a two-year externship at the Midwest Implant Institute where he received his surgical and prosthetic implant training. Dr. Kakos is also a licensed dental anesthesiologist.

Dr. Kakos has an extensive continuing education record. His pursuit of excellence drives him to attend and participate in some of the most advanced continuing education available; consequently, he received the distinction of fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, which only five percent of the dentists in the United States have achieved. In addition, Dr. Kakos is a member of numerous other associations and academies, including the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Kakos has been on staff at Northwest Community Hospital since 1992.

Dr. Kakos is also a graduate and preferred provider of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, know as LVI. This institute trains only the top 10 percent of cosmetic dentists worldwide and has been showcased on the ABC show Extreme Makeover.

DaVinci Dental Studios has recognized Dr. Kakos' contribution to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Kakos and his wife, Helen, are the proud parents of two sons, Stephan and Nicholas.

Dr. Sanaz Amiran, DDS

Dr. Sanaz Amiran completed her undergraduate education at Loyola University Chicago and received her dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Following graduation, she successfully completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Amiran is skilled at performing surgical implants, periodontal surgeries, full mouth rehabilitation and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Amiran believes that caring for her patients is the most important and rewarding part of her work. She approaches patient care and treatment from the perspective of the patient, never underestimating the need to make patients feel part of the process and totally comfortable. She believes that close doctor-patient communication is the benchmark for high quality and superior care.

Dr. Amiran is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, American Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Amiran is fluent in Spanish and Persian. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Amiran enjoys traveling, volunteering, cooking, yoga and playing piano. Most importantly, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Dr. John Micaletti, DDS, MS Periodontist

Dr. John Micaletti takes great pride and care in treating his patients. He attended Loyola University where he completed his graduate degree; he became a doctor of dental surgery in 1987. In 1994, he received a certificate in periodontics, at Northwestern University in Chicago, and a masters of science.

Dr Micaletti believes strongly in continuing education to ensure that he can offer his patients the latest treatment options. He has completed many courses on dental implants, advanced bone grafting, and soft tissue grafting. He prides himself on maintaining the highest standards of care.

Dr. John Micaletti places great importance on patient comfort. He ensures that his patients are relaxed and comfortable. Dr. Micaletti stresses patient education and will work to make sure you fully understand all treatment options. He prides himself on offering alternatives and answering questions in a calm, non-pressured environment. He is concerned and compassionate about his patients’ well being and will address any issues that you might have regarding treatment.
